Job description:

PURPOSE

The Officer, Human Resources is responsible for providing HR support functions to the mining site which include but are not limited to recruitment, staffing, performance monitoring, and employee counselling

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide HR support and advice to supervisors and line managers in order to develop the skills and capabilities of staff
  • Maintain good industrial harmony by ensuring well-coordinated communication on all employee wellness issues and implementation of policies and procedures
  • Monitor employees’ attendance, investigate, understand causes for staff absences and recommend solutions to resolve chronic attendance difficulties
  • Coordinate staff recruitment and selection process in order to ensure a timely organized and comprehensive procedure is used to hire staff
  • Conduct recruitment and selection processes in line with the company procedures by providing advice and assistance to supervisors on staff recruitment
  • Monthly reporting on HR Statistics
  • Provide information and assistance to staff, supervisors, and line managers on policies and procedures
  • Coordinate / facilitate all industrial relations matters for areas of responsibility and, provide advice and recommendations on disciplinary actions
  • Co-ordination of training activities/liaison with the training department
  • Ensuring all payroll inputs are correctly captured and recorded
  • Coordinating and advising on all appraisals and performance reviews for areas of responsibility
  • Act as a brand ambassador for HR
  • Perform other duties as may be required from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate
  • Diploma/ Degree in Human Resources Management/Business Administration/ Public Administration or related field

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years of HR generalist experience
  • Experience in a Mining environment will be an added advantage
