Purpose

To assist with accounting and administrative duties in the Financial Accounting Services and Financial Reports sections of the Office of Accounting.   

          

Responsibilities
  • Manage account creation and control.             
  • Prepare and process journal entries. Review propriety of entries and classifications to ensure financial integrity for reporting purposes
  • Monitor accounts, transactions and/or processes to ensure integrity and reliability. Collaborate with CSUs to resolve accounting related issues as necessary.     
  • Provide accounting support and data integrity reviews for customers, including campus departments, oversight agencies, UT management, and section managers within the Accounting and Financial Management.              
  • Other related functions as assigned.                                

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree: Related field
  • Experience in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Experience in report writing.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills, flexibility and attention to detail.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a fast paced, student services office.
  • Proficient with MS Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Demonstrated ability to perform multiple duties and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working in a university environment.
  • Experience working with internal and external customers.
  • Experience working with databases.
  • Knowledge of academic operations. Working knowledge of UT's policies, procedures, and systems, including DEFINE.
  • One to three years’ experience in governmental accounting.

Salary Range

$52,000

This position is currently remote but may require occasional visits to campus. Please note that work arrangements are subject to change based on university policy.
