Job Summary:
The Manager, Med Staff Project Consultant role provides management and oversight to the team which developments and implements system initiatives for Medical Staff Services. The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the team members working projects from conception to completion and hold the project stakeholders accountable in delivering projects on time and within scope and budget. Also, assist with problem solving and issue resolution. Within the Medical Staff Services department, this position is responsible for leading the team, project execution and delivery, governance, prioritization, resource planning, execution tools, training and monthly reporting. The position includes strategic responsibilities for managing projects and initiatives. The role will provide leadership to a variety of challenging situations, understand the impacts to all groups, take responsibility for the way time is managed and overseeing the problem solving and resolution.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Leadership a. Demonstrates leadership as evidenced by serving with compassion, pursuing excellence and honoring every voice; b. Builds trust. Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team and/or direct report(s); c. Employs successful interpersonal and communication skills to manage and lead the team; d. Interviews, trains, evaluates, and counsels staff; e. Implements ongoing performance improvement initiatives with the team; f. Interacts appropriately with internal and external departments. Project Management a. Defines scope, goals and deliverables and manage changes in project scope throughout the duration of the project; b. Estimate resources and participants needed to achieve project goals, including management of vendors or consultant resources; c. Develops project plans and associated communications documents; d. Responsible for thoroughly understanding and communicating stakeholder requirements to appropriate team members, and managing all requirements accordingly; e. Establishes clear ownership for project tasks, and ensure that team members and direct report(s) have the tools needed, and provide timely feedback; f. Delegates tasks and responsibilities to direct report(s) or appropriate personnel and hold all team members accountable to outcomes and goals; g. Ensures projects are completed on time and within scope. Other duties as assigned a. Provides facilitation and organization of large meetings, leadership teams and groups as requested; b. Leads the gathering and dissemination of materials for meetings, provide edits and restructuring; c Attends management, project team, and customer meetings as requested. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Required Minimum Education:
  • Bachelors Business Administration/Management
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
    Additional License(s) and Certification(s):
    PMP certification within 2 years Preferred
    Required Minimum Experience:
    Minimum 8 years in a project role Required and Experience in a health care system environment Preferred
    Required Minimum Skills:
    The role must be knowledgeable about project management techniques and tools Ability to facilitate and also apply critical thinking skills to resolve issues or problems is important. Medium Superior critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. Medium Applying only a tactical approach to project management will not be successful in this role. Medium This role will focus on creating relationships with team and leaders involved in projects.
