Job description

Position Title:

Part-Time Office Technician - Occupational Safety and Health

Job Description:

Provides administrative support to the Safety and Health Program, primarily focusing on tasks such as maintaining safety records, coordinating training materials, managing safety supplies, assisting with documentation of incident reviews, committee meetings, developing handouts and registration materials.

This is a part-time position working approximately 20 hours a week. This announcement will remain open until the position is filled and may close at any time without notice. Early application submission is strongly encouraged.

Position Salary Range:

$18.00 - $20.00/hr based on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain detailed safety incident reports, injury logs, and near miss documentation.

  • Enter safety data into designated software systems.

  • Generate safety reports and statistics for management.

  • Assist with the development and distribution of safety training materials.

  • Schedule and coordinate employee safety training sessions.

  • Order and manage safety equipment.

  • Coordinate documentation of safety committee meetings and agendas.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrollment or recent graduate from an accredited college or university with studies in public administration, communications, occupational health and safety or related field.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with individuals of varied backgrounds. 

  • Must be proficient using computers and Microsoft Office products.

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license or driving privilege card. Ability to travel to all locations throughout the city.

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with little direction

  • Working Conditions:

  • Light physical effort.

  • Intermittent sitting, standing, and walking.

  • Flexible work schedule and hours (M-F).

  • Possibility of some remote work.
