What you will do:

  • You will have a broad and/or deep senior technical expertise to provide specialized assistance to specific electrical/controls issues in the Region.
  • Provide technical assistance to field personnel including identifying gaps in processes or procedures.
  • Provide technical expertise to Area employees through training, written and verbal communication to operate, install, test, and assess company facilities in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner.
  • Lead problem solving of complex technical issues for multiple products and platforms. 
  • Provide leadership and direction to E/C Techs as required to resolve maintenance issues and as an advisor on Capital Projects. 
  • Lead efforts for cost estimating, budgeting, and obtaining clear scope definitions to obtain accurate cost estimates and project definitions. 
  • Understand and make decisions around the implementation of processes, projects, or procedures that have direct impacts to the overall system and the area operations personnel.
  • Understand and apply Operating & Maintenance (O&M) Procedures to ensure safe and reliable operation within the Region.
  • Support the development and execution of project scopes associated with the facilities and compression equipment.
  • Support the investigation of failures and reliability issues and develop solutions.
  • Represent Operations in supporting project teams and various stakeholders within the Company.
  • Support the development of O&M and Capital budgets to support ongoing operations.
  • Provide support in emergency response situations and efforts.
  • Lead Technical Staff representative for design reviews with the Projects Organization and external customers for review and approval of design criteria and construction drawing packages.

Who you are:

  • Related university degree and seven‐plus years’ experience in gas transmission OR ten‐plus years of previous field gas transmission experience, OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience.
  • Experience in the natural gas industry.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage, set priorities, and establish goals as well as work effectively with others in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer applications such as Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint, RSLOGIX 5000, and other E/C specific programs.
  • Undergo various background screening that includes but is not limited to 5-year driving record, criminal check, and drug testing.
  • Role requires a valid driver’s license, which will be verified with a driver’s abstract check prior to hire.
  • Possess knowledge and experience with electrical/controls related equipment.
  • Must reside within 30 miles of assigned work location.

Working Conditions:

  • Office and field position with large amounts of field time to support and understand Area Operation’s needs.
  • May spend time in the field as required to support projects or area operations (approx. travel time, 25-40%).
  • High heat exposure risk in field.
  • Cold exposure risk in field.
  • Extensive driving to reach field locations.
  • Willing to work overtime, be on call, and travel overnight.

Salary range - $95,000/yr -$125,000/yr
