Objective of the Role

As a Senior UX Research Ops, you will lead the design, implementation, and scaling of the operational systems, processes, and tools that support the UX Research team. Your mission is to maximize research quality, speed, and impact by enabling researchers to focus on generating insights, while ensuring operations run smoothly, ethically, and efficiently. You’ll work closely with researchers, designers, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to embed research into decision-making across the organization.

Main Responsibilities

  • Establish and continuously improve the operational framework for UX Research, including processes for participant recruitment, incentive management, consent, and data governance.
  • Streamline and optimize the UX research lifecycle with scalable workflows, tools, and systems that enable high-quality, repeatable research.
  • Manage participant panel health or recruitment strategies to ensure diverse and relevant user access for studies.
  • Evaluate, implement, and oversee research tools (e.g. survey platforms, usability testing, transcription, repositories), including vendor negotiation and team onboarding.
  • Build and maintain a centralized knowledge repository with structured taxonomies to improve discoverability, reuse, and long-term value of insights.
  • Onboard and train new researchers on operational tools and best practices.
  • Oversee the research operations budget, including tools, incentives, and third-party services, while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure full compliance with data privacy, ethics, and legal standards (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), collaborating with legal and compliance teams.
  • Monitor and report on operational performance, identify bottlenecks, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of operational excellence, promoting best practices and collaboration within the research team.
  • Act as a strategic partner to Product, Design, Engineering, and other functions to ensure research operations are aligned with evolving business needs.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • 3–5 years in UX Research Operations or 5+ years as a UX Researcher with a strong focus on research process design and operational optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and managing operational frameworks for UX Research teams.
  • Solid understanding of qualitative and quantitative UX research methods to support researchers effectively.
  • Experience managing user panels or complex recruitment processes.
  • Proven ability to select, implement, and manage research tools and vendor relationships.
  • Familiarity with building and maintaining research knowledge repositories and insight libraries.
  • Strong grasp of ethical, legal, and privacy-related standards in user research.
  • Experience managing budgets and negotiating with vendors.

Required skills

  • Excellent communication skills for documentation and stakeholder alignment.
  • Highly organized, with strong systems thinking and attention to detail.
  • Proactive, autonomous, and service-oriented mindset toward the research team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and adapt in fast-paced environments.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset with a passion for process improvement and operational excellence.
  • Team-oriented with strong skills in collaboration, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies relevant to Research Ops and the broader product ecosystem.
