Job description

We are currently seeking experienced Audit Managers for a short-term contract assignment with a focus on Financial Services – Insurance or Asset Wealth Management. This role is ideal for professionals with deep audit expertise and a strong understanding of U.S. standards.

Contract details:

Contract type: Independent Contractor Agreement
Location: Remote (South Africa or Zimbabwe)
Contract Duration: November 2025 to March 2026
Time Zone Requirement: Must be able to overlap 4–6 working hours with U.S. time zones

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 6 years’ relevant external audit experience in public accounting
  • Fully qualified CA(SA), CPA, or international CPA equivalent
  • Big 4 experience is essential
  • Audit experience within Insurance or Asset Wealth Management sectors
  • No more than 2 years out of external audit

Solid understanding of:

  • U.S. GAAP
  • PCAOB standards
  • Strong grasp of technical accounting and financial reporting standards relevant to Financial Services
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive, committed, and deadline-driven
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities

As an Audit Manager, you may be responsible for:

  • Leading audits from planning through completion, including review and sign-off on key sections
  • Managing larger, more complex engagement teams, ensuring quality and client satisfaction
  • Supervising tasks, budgets, and team deliverables
  • Providing high-quality client service including planning, budgeting, and timely coordination of deliverables
  • Mentoring and monitoring team performance, reviewing work for quality and technical accuracy
  • Communicating confidently with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ensuring audits are conducted in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA)

 

Note:  

  • Should you be successful in your application, you are expected to have access to the internet, and to ensure that the internet connection is uninterrupted and always accessible. This should be, at minimum, a fibre connection with a proven bandwidth of 20mbps upload and 10Mbps download speed, with a latency of no more than 30ms. This connection should be sustainable in the event of power interruptions.  
  • Audit experience and alignment to a specific level within SAPRO, shall be determined based on your individual audit exposure, technical interview and evaluation.  
  • Generally, we work on a 4 - 6 hour overlap with the host firm, however this is client dependent.
