Job description

Sword Health is on a mission to free two billion people from pain.

With 67% of members achieving a pain-free life and a 70% reduction in surgery intent, at Sword, we are using AI Care to change lives, and save millions for our 25,000+ enterprise clients across three continents. Today, we hold the majority of industry patents, win 70% of competitive evaluations, and have raised more than $300 million from top venture firms like Founders Fund, Sapphire Ventures, General Catalyst, and Khosla Ventures.

Recognized as a Forbes Best Startup Employer in 2025, this award highlights our focus on being a destination for the best and brightest  talent. Not only have we experienced unprecedented growth since our market debut in 2020,  but we’ve also created a remarkable mission and value-driven environment that is loved by our growing team. With a recent valuation of $3 billion, we are in a phase of hyper growth and expansion, and we’re looking for individuals with passion, commitment, and energy to help us scale our global impact.

Joining Sword means committing to a set of core values, chief amongst them to “do it for the patients” every day, and to always “deliver more than expected” on behalf of our members and clients.

This is an opportunity for you to make a significant difference on a massive scale as you work alongside 900+ (and growing!) talented colleagues, spanning three continents. Your charge? To help us build a pain-free world, powered by AI, enhanced by people — accessible to all.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Strategic Quality Leadership:
  • Own the strategy and implementation of quality management systems to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality care.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives informed by auditing insights, data analysis, and outcomes tracking.
  • Leverage technology and AI tools to automate quality monitoring and scale processes that identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities across the care journey.

  • Risk & Compliance Oversight:
  • Serve as the primary owner of clinical quality risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with critical policies and regulatory standards, oversee complex escalations, and proactively identify and mitigate quality risks across operations.

  • Capability Building & Enablement:
  • Lead the design and coordinate the deployment of high-impact training and development programs that elevate clinical team performance.
  • Define and execute the onboarding strategy for new hires within Clinical Operations, ensuring consistent ramp-up, confidence in role, and early quality outcomes.
  • Develop a scalable, data-informed training strategy aligned with operational needs and quality goals, including ongoing learning paths and role-specific certification processes.
  • Oversee and evolve the Clinical Operations knowledge infrastructure, ensuring it is always current, strategically aligned, and effectively embedded in daily workflows.
  • Introduce and implement enablement tools (dashboards, feedback systems, performance trackers) that help the ClinOps leadership team quickly spot individual coaching needs, performance risks, and high-impact improvement opportunities.

  • Operational Excellence & Technology-Driven Scaling:
  • Support the development and refinement of care delivery processes, tools, and frameworks that support high-quality and efficient service delivery.
  • Partner with product, data, and tech teams to co-create and roll out technology and AI-powered solutions that make quality and training processes measurable, repeatable, and scalable.

  • Cross-Functional Influence:
  • Act as a senior partner to Clinical Operations leadership, advising on quality and enablement strategy and supporting the execution of org-wide initiatives.
  • Foster deep collaboration across clinical, product, operations, and learning teams to embed quality, continuous improvement, and learning at scale.

  • What you need to have:
  • Strong operational thinking and the ability to lead initiatives from concept through execution, balancing strategy and detail.
  • Demonstrated success designing and delivering learning strategies and knowledge systems that drive measurable performance improvement.
  • Experience building onboarding programs that accelerate new hire ramp-up, engagement, and long-term impact.
  • A track record of using technology, tooling, or AI to improve process scalability, data visibility, and team enablement.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills across clinical and non-clinical functions.
  • A strong bias toward action, problem-solving, and continuous improvement in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.

  • What we would love to see:
  • Advanced analytical skills (Google Sheets and Looker experience strongly preferred) with the ability to translate insights into action.
