Job description

ULI San Antonio is searching for a full-time Senior Manager to join our small and collaborative team that serves local members in real estate and land use professions and fosters relationships, learning, and leadership that meaningfully affect their careers, their communities, and the real estate industry. 

 POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Manager is a professional position within ULI San Antonio.   As an integral part of the ULI San Antonio team, the Senior Manager serves as a professional liaison between the ULI San Antonio, ULI headquarters, and San Antonio real estate, planning and development professionals.  The Senior Manager is one of the faces of the ULI San Antonio that members call for assistance and information, so it is imperative that the Manager be courteous, knowledgeable, responsive and friendly.

The Senior Manager serves as an informed resource for ULI San Antonio committees, interfacing with committees to ensure that all work is consistent with ULI’s policies and procedures and that ULI San Antonio’s goals and objectives are met. The Senior Manager directly supports specific ULI San Antonio events, committees, and initiatives.  Strong Project Management skills including database management, volunteer engagement and management, team coordination, financial planning and management, follow through and attention to details are important for success within this position.  

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working remotely. However, in-person support of events will be required, and the Senior Manager must be able to travel to ULI San Antonio events throughout the area.  Meetings, events or programs may occur in the early mornings or evenings as well as during the standard workday.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the planning and execution of ULI San Antonio special events including the Golf Tournament, LMC IdeaFest, Insiders Tours, Quarterly luncheons, Real Estate Forum and Lunch & Learn programs.  
  • Oversee and manage administrative, financial and office operations of the District Council, including weekly status reports, monthly budget reviews and reporting to DC leadership, and oversight of budgets and financial policies for   Local Member Councils, NEXT, Development 360, and Mentorship Forum. 
  • Oversee membership and sponsorship programs, to include monthly new member coffee events, tracking recent member drops and member counts. Managing annual sponsorship program and delivery of sponsor benefits. 
  • Develop DC communications strategies and manage DC communications vehicles including weekly newsletters and social media channels– LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook. 
  • Manage assigned committees of WLI, NEXT, Young Leaders Group, Local Member Councils, Membership, and Mentorship Forum. This will include creating and managing program applications, ensuring proper succession planning for each committee, tracking program budgets, and program marketing including website updates, email communications, and social media. Manage program success through monitoring of individual groups and participant feedback. The assignment of committees, programs, and initiatives are subject to change.
  • Work collaboratively with ULI headquarters and ULI San Antonio staff and manage communications with the chairs of the various committees and subcommittees to ensure alignment with internal program practices and policies. 
  • Manage external communications with senior industry leaders participating in ULI San Antonio’s events and programs, general membership, prospects, sponsors, and partner organizations and work collaboratively with outside contractors, community partners, and regional ULI colleagues to support the Senior Manager’s portfolio of work.
  • Provide expertise related to ULI San Antonio program of work and tie it to the overall Institute goals and priority focus areas.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as necessary.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 6-8 years of proven project and office management skills, including creative problem solving.
  • BA/BS degree preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Collaborative, positive, and team oriented.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) required.
  • Proficiency with database management. CRM preferred.
  • Experience in social media management strategy and execution. 
  • Experience with design software such as Canva or InDesign as well as email marketing platforms (e.g. RealMagnet) 
  • Experience with event planning including sourcing venues and vendors, negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, and onsite execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate tasks and assume responsibility for them; work with minimal supervision in a high-production position; prioritize and reprioritize tasks as needed and handle multiple tasks concurrently and completely with responsible follow-through.
  • Self-motivated, agile, and entrepreneurial—demonstrating meticulous attention to both details and deadlines—in a dynamic work environment with many stakeholders and concurrent priorities/programs.
  • Professional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to work with senior business and public sector executives.
  • Ability to provide courteous customer service and professional relationships with coworkers in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to attend early morning and evening events is required
  • Ability to travel to events throughout the region 
  • Use of personal vehicle may be required for local travel
