Join Deutsche Bank Structures Trade & Export Finance Sales & Structuring in Madrid as Vice President.
The Structurer works closely with Coverage, Origination and/or Trading and helps deliver tailored structured products/solutions to clients, in line with the specified needs and in alignment with the strategy of the Bank/Division and a good understanding of the Bank/client’s needs and will participate in client meetings along with Coverage to advise on the key features of the structured product and help close the deal. They will also have responsibility for monitoring ongoing transactions and be involved in the review/drafting of marketing, deal execution materials and internal desk reports. The Structurer will also have responsibility for obtaining all required approvals through the NPA/NTA The Structurer works closely with Sales/Coverage, Origination and/or Trading and helps deliver tailored structured products/solutions/platforms to the Bank/clients, in line with the specified needs and in alignment with the strategy of the Bank/Division.
The Structured Trade and Export Finance (“STEF”) team in Madrid is recruiting a Vice-President. The STEF team is responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of export credits, with the support of Export Credit Agencies (“ECA´s) and private risk insurers (“PRI´s), for the financing of the commercial contracts of Deutsche Bank’s exporting and importing clients. The STEF Madrid team is responsible for the Iberia and Latam markets. Deutsche Bank’s Structured Trade & Export Finance department is a leading arranger of structured trade export finance transactions worldwide and comprises over 60 FTE in 10 regional hubs.
Responsibilities
Active role in the team’s general origination and transaction execution efforts and main maintenance of systems related to sales origination activity (Salesforce, pipeline, dbdistribute and alike) alongside with maintaining a robust and efficient control environment to ensure compliance with DB policies.
Preparation of financing proposals, including mandate letters, term sheets, client specific pitch books, country and commercial risk information, insurance cover availability, market capacity, information memorandums and financial models for individual transactions.
Preparation of Financial and Non-Financial Risk requests for approvals, which includes liaison with Credit Risk Management, Compliance, AFC, Legal, Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Security & Business Continuity, Finance, Regulation or ESG among others.
Leading role in all internal approvals processes, including calculating transaction KPI´s and all other risk/reward returns, conflict clearance, deal loggings, RPM, on-boarding KYC procedures and committees, as well as credit and reputational risk committees, as well as Monitoring, surveillance and control of existing Portfolio in liaison with Middle and Back-Office functions. Support to Front-Office staff for pipeline, reporting and risk management purposes.
Active role and exposure with Exporters, Borrowers, Insurance companies, banking market, Spanish Authorities and Multilateral institutions/DFIs, including but not limited to preparation of presentations Preparation of client presentations taking part in meetings and preparing call reports and ensuring follow ups.
Skills
Exceptional knowledge and 10+ years of relevant experience in International Trade & Export Finance industry, plus proven leadership skills and 5+ years of experience in managing and coordinating teams, especially in global projects.
Business / Law education. Fluent in English and Spanish. Third language (French, Portuguese) is a plus. MS Office skills, especially Word, Excel and Power Point.
Very good team spirit and adaptability, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills, focused on quality code and production issue resolution
Availability to travel, including emerging markets (Latam, Africa…).
