The Raytheon Hardware Engineering Organization leads the hardware design, development and production support of a wide breadth of air, land, sea, and space systems.  The Hardware Engineering team strives to be the premier organization for mechanical design and development through our world class people and technology - creating trusted, innovative solutions to make the world a safer place.  Hardware Engineering’s capabilities encompass a broad range of technical disciplines which include engineering, technical services, materials, processes, analysis, test, and documentation.

Our Undersea, Sensors and Structures (USS) department is looking for a Senior Mechanical Production Support Engineer to join our Patriot Launching Station Integrated Product Team (IPT) focusing on manufacturing development. Our Undersea, Sensors & Structures (USS) Department leads the mechanical design, development, and integration of a variety of products, including but not limited to undersea sensors and analysis, naval platforms, shipboard / ground-based processing and power equipment, and launchers. 

This unaccompanied position will be onsite in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for a long-term international assignment with additional compensation.

Employment is contingent upon meeting all medical requirements for overseas assignment including comprehensive post-offer medical examination.   

What You Will Do

  • Perform day-to-day execution of IPT scope for the Patriot Product Line (PPL) in support of the IAMD Program Office Customer. 
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between the supplier and IPT team and be accountable for successful execution of the requirements including Development, Production, Schedule, and Technical Performance of OCONUS activities.  This includes assisting with transition to production and obsolescence mitigation.
  • Provide technical Subject Matter Expert support for Launchers and technical interface with the country Partner, Arabian International Company (AIC).
  • Provide engineering support for partner development and execution of Launcher production including Manufacturing Data Package (MDP), tools and test fixture development, special process audit support, First Article Inspection (FAI) support, and transition to production.
  • Perform as technical liaison to the US based Launcher team to ensure product configuration alignment and synergy.
  • Develop a skill set and level of knowledge base to become a Patriot Launcher Subject Matter Expert.
  • Provide engineering support to offset projects for Launchers where applicable.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience.
  • Experience in production and engineering support environment and / or progressive leadership.
  • Experience with current manufacturing systems and processes.
  • Experience in production of complex systems.
  • Experience with large, welded assemblies.
  • Working knowledge of PTC CREO CAD system or equivalent and PTC PDM or equivalent Product Data Management system.
  • Ability to collaborate with international subcontractors in a production environment.
  • Ability to work closely with a cross functional team, with representatives from Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Mission Assurance, IPT Leadership, Program Management teams.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. 
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering and / or MS preferred.
  • Experience with detailed program and production planning.
  • Experience with product (road) testing, plan and procedure development, and execution
  • Experience with EXIM compliance including Jurisdiction and Classification Assessment (JCA) training.
  • Experience managing through organizational change and rapid growth.
  • Advocate for process improvement, team building and ability to build strong relationships and effectively partner with internal resources.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements.
  • Demonstrated technical, communication, leadership, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written for technical, non-technical, and management audiences.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
