Health & Safety Manager - Construction
Location: Toronto, ON (Head Office and Project Sites)
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Up to $110,000
Car Allowance: $7,500/year

About the Role
City Build Recruitment is partnering with our client, a leading construction firm in Toronto, to hire a Health & Safety Manager. This role is critical for overseeing the Health & Safety Program across multiple project sites and the head office. The successful candidate will manage two direct reports and work closely with the VP. The position involves traveling up to 75% of the time to various project sites within the Greater Toronto Area.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance: Implement health and safety policies and ensure adherence at all project sites and the head office.
Leadership: Manage a small team of two, providing guidance and support.
Accident Prevention: Identify hazards, analyze safety trends, and communicate key issues to senior management.
Training: Coordinate and deliver training to ensure compliance with legislation and company standards.
Incident Management: Oversee the return-to-work program and manage workers' compensation cases.
Program Review: Regularly update the Health & Safety Program to maintain certifications such as COR/ISO.

Skills and Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in health and safety management and at least 1-2 years experience in a general contractor setting, including roles such as coordinator or manager.
Leadership: Proven experience managing a team.
Certifications: NCSO or equivalent, COR/ISO Internal Auditor certification.
Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
