Job description

About the Role:

As a Veterinary Technician at Alamo Dog & Cat Hospital, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. Your primary responsibility will be to assist veterinarians in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions, ensuring the health and well-being of pets. You will also be responsible for performing laboratory tests, administering medications, and monitoring anesthesia during surgical procedures. Your expertise will contribute to creating a safe and welcoming environment for both pets and their owners. Ultimately, your work will help improve the quality of life for animals in our community.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology.
  • Certification in specialized areas such as anesthesia or emergency care.
  • Experience with exotic animals or wildlife.
  • License Veterinary Technician current in the state of Texas

Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
  • Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
  • Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and recovery.
  • Educate pet owners on proper care and treatment plans for their pets.
