The Anticorruption Counsel plays a key role in promoting Accenture’s compliance with global and local anticorruption laws, regulations and Accenture policies. 

The Anticorruption Counsel supports the Managing Director – Senior Director of Anticorruption and the Anticorruption team with the implementation and management of Accenture’s anticorruption compliance program and serves as a subject matter expert on global anticorruption laws. The Anticorruption Counsel helps the Legal team and the business understand the anticorruption compliance program.

The Anticorruption Counsel will coordinate with and leverage expertise from all teams within CORE, Contracting, Contracting Management, and Geographic Corporate & Compliance Legal. The Anticorruption Counsel will work with outside counsel, as necessary. .

THE WORK:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on global anticorruption laws and compliance;
  • Implement and manage Accenture’s anticorruption compliance program (Leadership; Standards & Controls; Training & Communication; Auditing, Monitoring & Response; and Risk Assessments);
  • Provide objective, focused, practical advice and solutions to Accenture businesses and legal professionals regarding compliance with anticorruption laws, Accenture’s Code of Business Ethics, Accenture’s anticorruption policies (“Gifts, Meals, Entertainment & Travel” and “Business Intermediaries”), and all other related policies;
  • Collaborate with Legal colleagues and the business globally to: (a) provide thought leadership for Accenture’s anticorruption compliance efforts generally by staying abreast of compliance industry best practices and changes in laws and regulations, (b) assist in the development of related policies to address business and legal requirements; (c) identify, analyze and mitigate anticorruption risks;
  • Conduct localized training on anticorruption law issues;
  • Respond to and help manage internal audits and internal investigations related to anticorruption law issues;
  • Assist Litigation & Disputes to respond to government inquiries or investigations related to anticorruption law issues;
  • Provide additional support, and assume additional responsibilities, as may be directed by the Managing Director – Senior Director of Anticorruption.

Flexible: The work location for this role may include a mix of working remotely, onsite at a client or in an Accenture office - depending on specific project circumstances.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • JD, LLB, or an equivalent law degree (based on geography) is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an anticorruption attorney at a global company or law firm.
  •  Ability to work with and manage resources remotely; minimal travel required.
  • Deep knowledge of global anticorruption laws and regulatory systems, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), UK Bribery Act, and similar legislation.
  • Familiarity with compliance and ethics frameworks for multinational corporations.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate risks.
  • Solid business acumen and understanding of Accenture’s business strategy (or similar corporate environments).
  • Ability to distill complex legal analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with legal and business leaders across global teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in an additional language is preferred.
