Job description

Job Title: Consultant in Learning Disabilities Psychiatry
Grade: Consultant
Location: Dundee, Scotland
Working Hours: 24 hours per week
Rate: Competitive, to be discussed upon application

We are seeking a dedicated Consultant in Learning Disabilities Psychiatry to work part-time for our NHS client based in Dundee, Scotland. This locum opportunity is available for an immediate start.

What will your responsibilities be?

This role involves providing specialist psychiatric care within learning disabilities services, including inpatient units, community mental health teams (CMHT), and other community-based settings. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, formulating treatment plans, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care. The postholder must be confident in managing complex cases and will be expected to participate in clinical meetings, documentation, and service development initiatives. Section 22 approval is essential for this role.

Qualifications and Experience:

• GMC registration (essential)
• Experience in learning disabilities psychiatry across inpatient and community settings
• Section 22 approval (essential)
• Strong clinical leadership and communication skills
• Commitment to delivering patient-centred care
