Job Summary: 

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Intake Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing intake processes, answering phone inquiries, assisting with patient bed management, and supporting the coordination of care for patients. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and possess strong communication skills to help guide potential patients and their families through the intake process. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that the facility operates smoothly and efficiently while providing exceptional care to individuals seeking support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer Phones & Handle Intake Calls: Respond to incoming calls for intake, providing clear, concise information about available services, intake procedures, and patient requirements.
  • Assist with Bed and Unit management: Help move patients from one bed or unit to another as needed, ensuring efficient flow of patients throughout the facility.
  • Enter & Manage Referrals: Process patient referrals by accurately inputting information into the intake system. Ensure all necessary data is collected and documented.
  • Close Out Referrals When Capacity is Met: When the hospital reaches capacity, assist in closing out referrals and ensuring all information is properly documented for future consideration.
  • Crisis Support: Be available to assist with crisis calls when necessary, helping to direct potential patients to the appropriate resources or crisis services.
  • Provide Support to Patients and Families: Offer guidance and support to individuals seeking care, answering questions, and providing a sense of comfort during the intake process.

Qualifications


Education:

Bachelors’ Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.
 

Experience:

Experience with behavioral health care, crisis management, substance use disorder and/or other psychological assessments, or intake required.
