Position: Maintenance Technician II/ Millwright
Shift: 1st Shift (Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM- 2:30 PM)
Compensation: Up to $40 per hour depending on Experience


Overview of Role:
The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and equipment. This mid-level position requires a solid foundation of technical knowledge and experience, allowing the technician to work independently with minimal supervision.

This position will be based in the Rod Mill, functioning as a Millwright/Maintenance Technician II. The technician will be expected to demonstrate strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, supporting the operation and upkeep of heavy industrial equipment in a demanding production environment.

The Maintenance Technician II plays a vital role in ensuring equipment and systems run efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all applicable regulations. The role may also involve assisting senior technicians and participating in facility-wide maintenance and improvement projects.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or an associate's degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or facilities maintenance, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
  • Proficient in using maintenance tools, including hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters and vibration analyzers.
  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance strategies and practices to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and perform necessary repairs or adjustments with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in maintenance, including lockout/tagout procedures, confined space entry, and handling hazardous materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking maintenance activities and generating reports.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively report issues and document maintenance tasks.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certification in industrial maintenance, HVAC, electrical systems, or mechanical systems (e.g., EPA certification, OSHA certification).
  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), or other industrial control systems.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial, or facilities maintenance environment.
  • Familiarity with project management software or tools used for scheduling and tracking maintenance tasks

Technology Requirements:

  • Proficiency in maintenance management software (CMMS) to track and log work orders, maintenance tasks, and equipment performance.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, thermography cameras) to analyze and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, such as climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and using power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in maintenance.
