Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join the Deal Party, Port Elizabeth team.

·         Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions (e.g., accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations).

·         Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.

·         Process supplier and customer invoices, credit notes, and statements.

·         Manage petty cash and staff expense claims.

·         Capture and reconcile stock movement and inventory adjustments in collaboration with warehouse staff.

·         Assist with stock audits and cycle counts from an accounting perspective.

·         Reconcile inventory accounts with the general ledger.

·         Prepare VAT, PAYE, and other SARS submissions and ensure compliance with regulatory deadlines.

·         Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.

·         Generate financial reports (e.g., trial balance, income statements, balance sheets) for review.

·         Support the external audit process with documentation and schedules.

·         Work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure correct costing and allocation of deliveries and stock movements.



Requirements

·         Grade 12

·         A tertiary qualification in Finance/Accounting will be an advantage.

·         Minimum of 3–5 years of bookkeeping experience.

·         At least 2 years' experience within a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.

·         Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar).

·         Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
