GB RTD Marketing Category Director

Location: 1HQ
Reports to: GB Marketing and Innovation Director

We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a transformational marketing leader to take on the newly created role of GB RTD Marketing Category Director. This role will lead Diageo’s ambition to win in the high-growth, high-potential Ready-to-Drink (RTD) category—placing GB at the forefront of unlocking this global opportunity.

RTDs offer a powerful growth engine: attracting new consumers, capturing new occasions, and delivering incremental value. As one of Diageo’s global priority markets, GB requires a bold, marketing-led agenda—one that integrates insight, innovation, creativity, and commercial acumen.

Key Accountabilities – Full Marketing Ownership

  • Consumer Understanding & Foresight
    Champion a deep understanding of LPA+ Gen Z consumers in GB. Leverage insights and foresight to identify cultural, behavioral, and category trends that unlock growth opportunities.

  • Brand Building & Strategy
    Define and execute the end-to-end RTD brand strategy for Smirnoff and Captain Morgan. Build distinctively positioned brands that are culturally fluent, with clear architecture and powerful communication platforms.

  • Innovation & Portfolio Growth
    Lead the innovation agenda in partnership with global and supply teams. Deliver breakthrough products that delight consumers and unlock new occasions, all with commercial scalability in mind.

  • Creative & Digital Excellence
    Drive culturally relevant, insight-led creative platforms. Ensure full-funnel execution across digital and traditional channels that delivers both brand equity and performance.

  • Commercial & Channel Integration
    Co-create a winning Route to Market (RTM) and Route to Consumer (RTC) plan with the GB commercial team. Deliver bold execution plans to build physical and mental availability across all key channels.

  • End-to-End Business Leadership
    Lead a dedicated RTD team with full ownership of the business P&L. Create a culture of collaboration, performance, and agility—leveraging the broader Diageo GB matrix to accelerate impact.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Proven senior leadership experience in high-velocity, brand-led categories (RTD, beer, soft drinks, or FMCG).

  • Strong track record in brand building, innovation, and commercial delivery.

  • Skilled in turning consumer insight into market-moving strategy.

  • Comfortable with complexity and ambiguity—able to lead transformational growth from the ground up.

  • A passionate, creative, and digitally savvy marketer who believes in the power of culture to drive brand relevance and recruitment.

  • An inclusive and inspiring leader, capable of developing talent and leading cross-functional teams with impact.
