**Pay Range: $33.00 - 45.00

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. 

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (9:00am - 5:30am)

As a Validation Technologist you will promote and maintain the QA and QC programs for the laboratory as well as performing R&D validations of novel methods and re-verification of existing methods as required.  Job duties will include the coordination of PT testing, validating new calibrator, control and reagent materials as well as preparing quality control data charts as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
  • Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
  • Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
  • Evaluate raw and final data for accuracy; recognize and correct errors or unusual results
  • Provide guidance to technical staff with the analysis and interpretation of final results
  • Perform new test procedures and/or methods and provide feedback based on your findings
  • Assist with training and orientation of new employees as needed
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or a non-traditional Bachelor’s degree that meets local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements
  • Minimum 4+ years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required
  • Prior experience with QA/QC, method development and LC-MS/MS instrument platforms is preferred
  • ABFT certification or prior toxicology drug testing experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated success in clinical testing technical proficiency and scientific knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of specific laboratory and/or department functions
  • Ability to exercise judgement to determine methods and procedures on new assignments
  • Proficient with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems
  • High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
