Monday -Friday 1st Shift

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Trim and customize portions of meat products using knives, band saws or other meat production equipment.
Count and stack on tray portions per desired customer and company specifications
Label portion with supplied number product labels
Needs to be able to read and understand cut tickets.
Set up cutting room as required
Keep cutting room and surrounding area clean and sanitized.
Must adhere to USDA Safety and Sanitation regulations for food safety requirements.
Complete miscellaneous other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION:

The incumbent is not required to provide direct supervision for any position.

RELATIONSHIPS

The incumbent is required to interact with employees, customers, and vendors at all levels of responsibility throughout the company in a professional manner.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work continually in a refrigerated environment 35F- 45Fdegrees.
Must be able to work for periods of time in freezer 10F to -10F degrees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Kitchen prep experience and some basic knife skills
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to read and understand customers’ specifications and do basic math functions.
Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Knowledge of USDA grades and standards as well as food safety preferred.
Incumbent must have the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Finish time is when work is completed and could require overtime without notice.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS

Job requires associates to occasionally sit, walk, lift/carry up to 10 lbs., and reach above shoulders; frequently lift/carry up to 50 lbs., step, climb, balance, kneel, bend, reach turn, and manipulate products while continuously standing and grasping products.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $18.00-$19.00/hour.
