What you will do

With skills in investigation, data collection and analysis, and documentation, the SIU Analyst impacts cases identified for potential fraud or abuse.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive online research including Internet, social media, public records, and government database searches for potential fraudulent or suspicious claims or policies.
  • Collect, document, report and provide recommendations on evidence in support of the overall investigation.
  • In partnership with the SIU team, conduct fraud identification and awareness training.
  • Work with fraud analytics tools as it relates to fraud, waste, and abuse including but not limited to: Verisk ISO, Claims Director, Decision Net and Accurint for Insurance, Lexis Nexis, Genex medical billing system, and NICB - National Insurance Crime Bureau.
  • Ensure all fraud referrals are properly recorded and documented within the SIU's system.
  • Route referrals to appropriate investigators within the SIU for further analysis and investigation.
  • Prepare and submit reports to state and federal regulators on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, as required by regulatory bodies.
  • Create reports that provide a summary of the status and activity of ongoing investigations and to support regulatory requirements.
  • Providing oversight and ensuring the proper functioning of SIU tracking systems and databases.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address and remedy instances of fraud and financial waste. 
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. economic and trade sanctions programs; screen customers and transactions against Office of Foreign Assets Control lists, reporting suspicious activity, and assisting with regulatory inquiries. 
  • Attend industry meetings for identifying industry trends. Attends and participates in team meetings, and roundtables, Participates and maintains network of SIU, claims, law enforcement, attorney, and related contacts to ensure investigation methods are current and proper operating
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Conform with all corporate policies and procedures

What you need

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years of SIU Analytics or Insurance related experience preferred.
  • 2-4 years of claims and policy coverages across multiple lines of business preferred
  • 2-4 years of experience in identifying red flags and indicators of fraud within a claim/policy preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI reporting systems. 

 

Salary range: $65,000 - $82,000 

The final salary to be paid and position within the internal salary range is reflective of the employee’s work experience, their geographic location, education, certification(s), scope and responsibilities in the role, and additional qualifications.
