Job description

The Shop Support Specialist is responsible for leading and executing associate certifications and validations to ensure that team members develop, maintain, and increase their own technical and/or process knowledge. The Shop Support Specialist will also support the creation, implementation, and accountability for standardized work instructions for critical to quality certifications in assigned shops.

Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct training as needed and coordinate training for associates in assigned shops to ensure the certifications necessary to achieve production goals.  

  • Complete installation certifications and validations for assigned shops with the ability to assist other shops. 

  • Create, implement, and audit standardized work instructions for “critical to quality” roles to improve quality, efficiency, and training effectiveness. 

  • Partner with the Operations Coordinator to maintain quality standards and investigate quality inspection fails to help accurately assign defects to the responsible associates.

  • Help coordinate quality containments and improvements.  

  • Joint responsibility with Operations Coordinator for maintaining shop supplies, tools, machines and other production floor needs.  

  • Support new accessory launches and associated training efforts.

  • Work with New Products throughout the development process to support the needs of production. 

  • Complete location-specific responsibilities and special projects as directed by leadership. 

Formula for Success:  

  • Performance – You will partner with the Operations Coordinators and Training Department to schedule training in such a way that effectively balances the training and production needs of the shops. 

  • Quality & Accountability – You will support an environment where associates understand expectations and take responsibility for their quality results. You will work closely with the Supervisors to monitor and support improvement activities relating to quality performance. 

  • Communication – You will ensure associates stay informed of their certifications through effective methods of communication.  

  • Safety – You will champion a safety mindset in all aspects of daily operations to ensure a safe work environment for all associates.  

  • Culture – You will maintain a work environment supportive of the organization’s inclusive and collaborative culture. 

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proven analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills Demonstrated flexibility and ability to handle multiple priorities in a changing, fast-paced work environment Ability to develop and mentor others

  • Excellent communication skills while maintaining effective relationships  

  • Ability to learn, process and present information effectively  

  • Influencing with and without authority 

Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of experience within a manufacturing production 

  • Manufacturing Shop Trainer experience 

  • Fully certified in all accessory installations for applicable shops preferred

  • Proven quality performance above shop standards preferred

  • Minimum Expert Certification preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products 

  • Ability to work Saturdays and holidays as needed
