The Downstream Field Application Specialist for Genomic Medicine delivers specialized scientific knowledge within customer environments, performing testing and product demonstrations to demonstrate competitive differentiation.

This position reports to the Head of Discovery & Genomic Medicine and is part of the Genomic Medicine OpCo located in Songdo, Seoul, with remote work to cover Korean customers.

What you will do:

  • Technical Support & Application Consulting: Provide technical expertise and guidance to customers and the sales team before and after sales to drive more sales of Cytiva's downstream product.
  • Consultative Relationship Building: Establish technical credibility with customers to become a trusted advisor, understand their needs, and link Cytiva's downstream solutions to their objectives.
  • Customer Engagement: Prioritize and deliver product demonstrations, technical support, training, site visits, and follow-ups to build strong, long-term customer relationships and ensure high customer satisfaction while efficiently using team and Cytiva resources.
  • Troubleshooting & Process Improvement: Resolve customer technical issues, identify opportunities for process improvement in their manufacturing, and design and implement innovative solutions.

Who you are:

  • Education & Experience: A bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field is required. A master's degree or experience in research and development is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Comprehensive expertise in viral vector or nucleic acid downstream processes is essential. Proficiency in oligo synthesis and a strong understanding of downstream purification technologies are required.
  • Business Acumen: Proven experience in cross-selling, upselling, value positioning, and funnel management. Demonstrated ability to understand customers' key business drivers and translate technical capabilities into business value propositions.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to thrive in a multinational environment, with a talent for influencing and negotiating with both internal and external stakeholders, and a demonstrated capacity to work efficiently within a matrix organization.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in both English and Korean is essential.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Language/Environment Requirements:

  • Fluent level of English & Korean in written and verbal communications
  • Ability to travel abroad upon business needs
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record within territory or locations
  • If foreign national, legal work permit is required to pursue employment contract by Korean immigration law
  • Candidates who have undergone a health examination and have been confirmed to be suitable for the job performance based on the health examination results
