Job Overview

As a key member of our team, you'll manage the full spectrum of accounting functions, from financial reporting and reconciliations to tax compliance and audit support. You'll also play an active role in team collaboration and client interaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyse financial statements for Trusts, Companies, and Partnerships.
  • Complete tax returns for all entity types and individuals in line with deadlines.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and ledger maintenance.
  • Manage bookkeeping functions including accounts payable/receivable and payroll.
  • Prepare timely management accounts and insightful financial reports.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, including variance analysis and financial comparisons.
  • Maintain general ledger integrity and assist in year-end audit preparation.
  • Ensure compliance for non-profit organisations.
  • Provide team support and collaborate on cross-functional tasks.
  • Participate in business advisory work including due diligence for purchases/sales, financial forecasting, viability assessments, and valuations - particularly within the education sector (RTO Accountants). Training will be provided.

About You

  • 4+ years of experience in Australian public practice accounting.
  • Proficient with Xero accounting software.
  • Advanced Excel skills and a strong analytical mindset.
  • A self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills-both verbal and written.
