Inspector API 570/510 (Sabah Water)

• Valid Sabah work permit is require for non-Sabahan. (Hence, for non-Sabahan, please mention is you are holding a valid Sabah work permit)

Job Purpose

We are seeking a certified API 570/510 Inspector for a one-off project in August to support inspection activities at telecommunications towers. The inspector will be responsible for ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices for the inspection, maintenance, and safe operation of structural and operation of telco towers. This role requires close collaboration with UAV (drone) operators, integrating traditional inspection techniques with drone-assisted data collection to improve safety, accuracy, and efficiency. The work environment includes challenging and remote locations such as offshore platforms and industrial sites.

Job Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Conduct inspections, maintenance, and certifications of telecommunication towers in compliance with API 510 / 570 standards.
• Perform detailed inspections of telecommunication towers to ensure safe operation and adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Identify defects or issues and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports, including findings, recommendations, and certifications, as required.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
• Collaborate with UAV operators to plan and execute drone-assisted inspections of hard-to-access areas and offshore equipment.
• Review real-time UAV footage or data to identify and document equipment conditions, anomalies, or structural issues.
• Review and use data from UAV imagery and photogrammetry data to complement traditional inspection methods.
• Work closely with operations teams to ensure equipment readiness and reliability.
• Assist in UAV flight planning to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Provide input on optimizing UAV utilization for inspections based on API criteria.

Requirement

• API 510 / 570 Certification (mandatory).
• Ability to adapt to advanced technology and work in diverse environments, including offshore or remote locations.
• Proven experience telecommunication towers inspection in industries such as oil and gas, construction, or heavy equipment.
• Strong understanding of API 510 / 570 standards and related safety practices.
• Knowledge in accordance with API 570 standards, including assessment of mechanical integrity, support structures, and associated components relevant to telco tower inspection environments.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, manuals, and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating with team members.
• Ability to work independently and in diverse environments, including remote or offshore locations.
