Job Title: Associate Attorney – Workers' Compensation
Position Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Location: Remote (Must be based in CA; occasional office visits may be required)
Salary Range: $180,000 – $220,000 + Quarterly Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits

Job Description:

As an Associate Attorney specializing in Workers’ Compensation, you will play a pivotal role in managing the legal defense of complex WC claims on behalf of employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators. You’ll take ownership of cases from inception through resolution, advocating for your clients through strategic negotiation, litigation, and proactive case management. Responsibilities:
  • Advocate on behalf of clients at all stages of workers' compensation claims

  • Draft pleadings, correspondence, and legal documents

  • Conduct depositions and cross-examinations of physicians and witnesses

  • Represent clients in hearings, court appearances, and settlement conferences

  • Negotiate lien resolutions and final settlements

  • Collaborate with internal teams and mentor legal assistants

  • Stay current on relevant case law, industry trends, and procedural updates

  • Input and manage case details in legal management systems

Requirements:
  • Active member of the California State Bar

  • JD from an accredited law school

  • 2–10+ years of workers’ compensation litigation experience

  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills

  • Strong negotiation, legal analysis, and case management abilities

  • Proficiency with case law research and legal software tools

  • Commitment to professionalism, responsiveness, and client service
