Description

The Senior Cloud Solutions Architect researches, designs and develops system architectures to deliver specific customer/company solutions. This position performs various functions, including managing the cloud computing architecture in an organization, especially as cloud technologies grow increasingly complex. Cloud computing architecture comes with managing front-end platforms, servers, storage, delivery, and networks required to manage cloud storage.


Essential Functions / Tasks / Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Partner with stakeholders to align cloud solutions with business objectives, balancing innovation with operational efficiency
  • Lead and manage projects related to Cloud Infrastructure application migration, and platform support
  • Leverage on Cloud environment and service-oriented architecture principles to define and own Solution Architecture (applications and data technologies)
  • Design and deliver full-stack solution using software that fully integrates with customer’s existing cloud infrastructure from data flow, security, DevOps, and other standpoints
  • Propose suggestions and best practices to optimize customers’ cloud presence, performance, security, and cost
  • Evaluate technical risks and implement mitigation strategies during design and deployment
  • Carry out debugging, troubleshooting, modifications, and unit testing of custom solutions built on the organization/clients platform
  • Develop new technical specifications, documentation; and create technical procedures and user support guides
  • Create a well-informed cloud strategy and administer the adoption process
  • Evaluate cloud applications, hardware, and software at regular intervals
  • Develop and organize cloud systems and work closely with IT security to monitor the company’s cloud privacy
  • Provide prompt response to technical issues in a professional manner
  • Direct infrastructure movement procedure, including bulk application transfers into the cloud environment
  • Identify and implement architecture solutions that align with business and technical strategies.
  • Mentor junior architects and engineers; help establish best practices in architecture, DevOps, and cloud governance
  • Collaborate across engineering, product, and security teams to ensure scalable, compliant, and cost-optimized architectures
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation), and automation frameworks
Requirements

Competencies:

Technical Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies and emerging trends.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture and enterprise application integration.
  • In-depth knowledge of data modeling best practices.
  • Working knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
  • Proficiency in operating systems such as Linux, Unix, Solaris, Ubuntu, and Windows.
  • Solid grasp of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, IP addressing, HTTP, and DNS.
  • Experience with scripting languages and relational databases.
  • Expertise in key cloud security concepts and best practices.
  • Familiarity with data integration and EAI technologies (e.g., TIBCO).
  • Hands-on experience with SaaS solutions and business intelligence/analytics tools is a plus.

Nice to have skills:

  • Regulatory Compliance (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST) 
  • Disaster Recovery / High Availability considerations
  • Metrics/KPIs ownership - SLA/SLO design
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, Pulumi, or AWS CDK
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native security tools and best practices (e.g., IAM policies, encryption, zero trust models)
  • Experience designing and deploying solutions using Kubernetes, EKS, AKS, or GKE.
  • Experience integrating cloud-native data services (e.g., BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake)

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong relationship-building skills to effectively engage with internal stakeholders and project team members.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Able to clearly explain complex cloud architecture concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including clients, development teams, and senior management.

Education / Professional Certifications or Licenses Required:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (provided by Amazon Web Services) certification required.
  • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification preferred.

Experience Requirements: 

  • 5-8 years of relevant work experience in solutions design and engineering.
  • Professional experience in designing, implementing, and supporting IT cloud solutions.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services or similar secure cloud platform.
  • Understanding on Linux and other Linux flavored OS (CentOS, Ubuntu etc.)
  • Software Engineering background

Supervisory responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and leadership to the Software Engineering and IT teams and work closely with the Director of Software Engineering.

$110,000 - 115,000 per year
