Clean Air Task Force (CATF) is a nonprofit organization working to safeguard against the worst impacts of climate change by catalyzing the rapid global development and deployment of low-carbon energy and other climate-protecting technologies. This is accomplished through research and analysis, public advocacy leadership, and partnership with the private sector. CATF is highly respected for its deep expertise and research on energy and industrial systems and potential strategies, technologies, and policies that can radically shrink their impact on the planet’s atmosphere. Our team of experts and advocates (and global network of subject matter experts and civil society partners) put this research and knowledge into action by designing and enacting public policies that drive toward zero emissions. We also support policies and work directly with private industry to innovate in technology to make the path to zero emissions swift and affordable. CATF has offices in Boston, Washington D.C., and Brussels, with staff working virtually around the world.

ROLE

The CATF Development Associate will report to the Senior Associate, Development Operations, but will interface regularly with CATF operations, accounting, finance, communica[TG1] tions and marketing, and development colleagues on all aspects of development and data operations support. The Development Associate’s primary responsibilities will include timely gift processing, supporting front-line fundraising team, interfacing with colleagues across CATF on projects relating to donor data, and occasional support for the function of the Boston, MA headquarters office, particularly during high volume gift months and donor events and activities.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate independent task management and problem-solving skills; a willingness to master current CATF practices and the initiative and creativity to improve them where needed; an ability to communicate clearly and proactively with colleagues; and capacity to respond efficiently and professionally to inquiries from our donors. This position will operate in a fast-paced environment, requiring a strong commitment to process and attention to detail, as well as flexibility and composure to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously and adjust plans quickly as new opportunities arise.

Key Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Gift entry including online, check, and other gift payment formats
  • Data clean-up and data management including regularly screening data for updates, duplicate records, and resolving data hygiene issues
  • List management, including deduplication, testing, formatting, and distribution
  • Donor contact report tracking
  • Providing donor activity reports and acknowledgment support to portfolio holders
  • Working in close collaboration with communications and marketing, operations, and events to ensure seamless data transition and functionality for all teams
  • Support events data management, communications data management, and operations interface as needed
  • Managing internal team meeting calendars and agendas
  • Providing support and executing donor event logistics, donor visit scheduling, donor correspondence, and fundraising expense tracking
  • Providing data entry, hygiene, and management support in other ways as needed including occasional travel to Boston office and other locations as needed to assist with gift processing and donor support
  • Perform other duties as assigned and necessary

Skills/Qualifications:

  • CRM data entry and management experience – preferably Salesforce and Dataloader
  • Grant/Development Administration
  • Proficiency with Office 365/Microsoft suite of applications, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, online research tools, and online document sharing and calendaring
  • Highly organized, with superb attention to detail
  • Strong communicator to both internal and external audiences
  • Self-starter who enjoys taking initiative and helping others.
  • Consistent follow-through, strong organizational skills, and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Compensation and Location:

This is a full-time, remote position, with location flexible within the United States. CATF offers an excellent benefits package (details available on our careers page) and an annual salary range of $84,000 – $92,000, depending on experience.
