Compensation Range:

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

Collaborates with the Specialty Registrar II-Lead in the Neonatology Department Documentation Office. This office is crucial to providing clinical care through communication of outcomes with faculty as well as supporting quality improvement goals and facilitating accurate and prompt billing of services. Provides backup to the Lead to ensure the completion of day-to-day tasks and reporting requirements are met. Monitors the department scheduling system qGenda for team assignment as well as the hospital census to determine daily workflow and communication with team. Abstracts quality data metrics in an accurate and efficient manner. Ensures lab interface is working and communicates with leadership to address any issues. Works with staff to create and maintain policies and procedures of the program and provide support. Collaborates with Lead and Manager to notify stakeholders of compliance issues with billing and documentation. Manages the Nutrition Database for quality outcomes reporting to faculty. Responsible for the Vermont Oxford Network eNICQ database reporting, including identifying and uploading inclusion data to registry. Utilize the External Data Inferface, as well as manual chart abstraction from EPIC and Neodata to interpret and codify data based on registry clinical definitions. Communicates with PCPs by sending of progress notes. Assist Manager and Lead on special projects including auditing, data reporting, or compliance measures. Collects feedback on projects as needed. Adjust schedule as needed to meet the departments deadlines and provide coverage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Extract clinical documentation from patient electronic medical charts for reporting to assist the attendings, fellows, and all staff members with clinical documentation.
  • Information includes diagnosis, medications, procedures, labs, respiratory status, fluids, and billing codes.
  • Produce daily reports on NICU patients for medical records, neonatal follow‐up clinic, pediatricians, obstetricians, attendings, and billing department.
  • Ensure data is accurate through audits.
  • Responsible for the Vermont Oxford Network eNICQ database reporting, including identifying and uploading inclusion data to registry.
  • Utilize the External Data Inferface, as well as manual chart abstraction from EPIC and Neodata to interpret and codify data based on registry clinical definitions
  • Manages the census for admitted and discharged patients in the NICU.
  • Extract of admission and discharge notes from electronic medical records with entry into clinical database.

  • At least 2 years of post‐high school education REQUIRED.
  • 2 years of secretarial/ practical office experience REQUIRED.
