Client Manager - Merchandising Analytics Team

About the Role: The Client Manager role will be part of the Merchandising Analytics team, covering a portfolio of retail clients and product suite across North America. This position requires an avid sales hunter with strong knowledge of marketplace potential, who continuously drives sales success rates and accurately manages the sales pipeline and forecasting. The role reports directly to the Vice-President of Merchandising Analytics Sales.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Meet or exceed revenue targets and grow market share.
  • Understand and explain the value of data analytics, custom models, and solutions to clients in the space planning environment.
  • Take initiative to capitalize on new sales opportunities.
  • Clearly and convincingly articulate Retail Analytics offerings and value proposition, overcoming any resistance from prospective clients.
  • Prospect, penetrate, and create new relationships with clients at all levels.
  • Drive deals to closure independently.
  • Build executive presentations, crafting messages for Sales Senior Leadership.
  • Work cross-functionally to drive the execution of go-to-market strategies.
  • Accurately report on sales activity and forecasting to senior sales management.
  • Develop and execute successful sales campaigns.
  • Maintain product/technical knowledge by participating in learning workshops/sessions.
  • Cross-sell and partner with other NielsenIQ business units.

About You: You are a high-performing deal maker with a commercial mindset, keeping a close eye on revenue growth targets. You build and promote strong, long-lasting client relationships by understanding their needs. You aim to accelerate sales, uncover new opportunities, and meet your targets. You understand the market landscape, our products, and our processes. Collaboration among teams and truly listening to clients will help you meet your goals, especially when dealing with crises and challenges. You create clarity between client needs and the contract with us to ensure that expectations are level set. Selling, critical thinking, negotiation, problem-solving, and communication drive your work.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional leadership experience with proven sales/marketing/account management background.

  • Experience using analysis, reporting, modeling, and forecasting to gather data for business decisions.
  • Knowledge of NielsenIQ assortment, merchandising, and space management solutions.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and take actions with flexibility.
  • Effective communication skills with partners at all levels, from local sales teams to C-suite personnel.
  • Good understanding of technology’s critical role in CPG (Big Data, Analytics, Mobile, Digital).
  • Understanding of how information is used and shared throughout manufacturer/retailer organizations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and good follow-through.
  • Large-room presentation experience.
