As Sr. Director of Data Analytics, you’ll be at the center of one of Dave’s most important strategic priorities: building a data-first culture that drives better decisions at every level. This is a rare opportunity to unify business insights and tooling under one leader with high agency and analytical capabilities—and to do it with full executive support. You’ll lead a growing organization of analysts and managers embedded in cross-functional pods across the business, with direct influence on decisions across product, finance, marketing, and member experience.
You’ll have clear ownership and high visibility—working closely with our VP of Data and engaging with C-level leadership. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in white space, sees ambiguity as an opportunity, and wants to shape not just what gets measured, but how we think about measurement itself.
Strategic Leadership
Define and evolve analytics as a core function at Dave—your insights will directly shape company strategy.
Translate complex, open-ended business questions into frameworks that drive clarity and impact.
Identify and prioritize high-leverage data opportunities across the business.
Help Dave measure what matters by creating KPIs that align with company outcomes.
Champion a culture where data isn’t just available—it’s central to how decisions are made.
Team Development
Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing analytics team with deep business and technical acumen.
Promote a culture of learning, experimentation, and collaboration across pods.
Empower managers to lead with clarity while maintaining a shared center of excellence.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Act as a strategic partner to product, finance, growth, and other functions—owning the analytics roadmap that supports their priorities.
Communicate insights in ways that drive action, not just awareness.
Prioritize cross-functional work based on business value, striking a balance between quick wins and foundational investments.
Collaborate with data engineering to ensure that the infrastructure supports scalable, reliable analysis.
Technical Leadership & Best Practices
Standardize data definitions and establish a clear, shared understanding of business metrics across technical and business teams.
Champion high-quality experimentation, advanced analysis, and business acumen through dashboards and tools.
Drive the adoption of analytics best practices—from governance to visualization to tooling—so teams can move faster with confidence.
Own and evolve the analytics stack to support scale and self-service.
12+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or business intelligence, including 5+ years leading high-impact teams.
Proven experience scaling analytics functions in a fast-moving environment—ideally in fintech or adjacent spaces.
A strategic mindset paired with strong technical depth: you know how to solve problems and how to help others solve them better.
Demonstrated ability to influence decisions at every level, including the C-suite.
Comfort leading in ambiguity—this role offers the space to build, shape, and own.
Advanced expertise in data pipelines, experimentation, dashboards, and business-facing analytics.
Clear, confident communicator who can make complex insights accessible and actionable.
Master’s or PhD in a relevant field preferred.
Experience in fintech—especially in payments, credit, or banking—is a plus
Python, SQL, R, GCP, dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, BigQuery, Fivetran, LookML, Mode, Looker, A/B testing
