Salary Range:    $48000.00 - $66413.00 Salary

Position Purpose
The high school Computer Science instructor works under the supervision of the Academic Dean and is responsible for meeting all scheduled classes and providing instruction in accordance with CECs academic philosophy, goals, and objectives.


Job Duties

  • Upholds CECs beliefs found on the CEC website.
  • Develops and administers Computer Science education curriculum consistent with CECs academic philosophy, goals, and objectives.
  • Develops lesson plans, instructional materials, and activities to enhance learning and to demonstrate the application of course work to everyday life.
  • Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and modifies instructional methods accordingly.
  • Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to student and small group learning by ensuring student conduct conforms with CECs Student and Family Handbook and CEC policies.
  • Ensures effective communication with students and parents.
  • Organizes and maintains Infinite Campus (IC) for accurate and complete recordkeeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievements, and daily attendance as required in CEC policies.
  • Selects and requisitions appropriate textbooks; instructional aids, supplies, and equipment; and maintains inventory records.
  • Collaborates with other CEC staff members and participates in staff meetings and professional development as requested by the Academic Dean.
  • Continues to acquire professional knowledge and keeps informed of current developments in education.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university with one of the following:
    • Degree concentration applicable to the teaching assignment, OR
    • Endorsement on a Colorado teaching license, OR
    • 36 semester credit hours in the core subject area, OR
    • Passing score on a State Board of Education approved content exam (currently the ETS Praxis Series)
