Description

Job Description Summary

To assist managing all daily aspects of the EVS department which consist of the upkeep of the casino floor, outside areas, back of house, kitchen areas and casino offices. Assist the EVS Manager in training, upholding policies and procedures, and the development of safety guidelines. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

  • Maintain our ACE culture
  • Uphold all FORBES cleaning and service standards  
  • Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
  • Trains staff in all necessary EVS tasks according to EVS procedures
  • Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Issues supplies and equipment to workers.
  • Investigates complaints regarding EVS service and equipment and takes corrective action.
  • Examines casino floor, hallways, back of house, kitchen areas and outside areas to determine need for cleaning or projects and makes recommendations to management.
  • Conducts training of new employees to explain EVS work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Attend training seminars to perfect EVS techniques and procedures and enhance supervisor skills.
  • Attend all executive staff meetings in the absences of the EVS Manager.
  •  Provides excellent guest service to both guest and internal clients.
  • Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise employees of the EVS Department. Assists EVS Manager in overall direction, coordination and evaluation of EVS staff.
  • Must comply with all applicable ACCRM internal controls, standard operating procedures and Tribal Regulations. Documents and reports all exceptions/variations/deviations immediately upon awareness. 
  • Assist with payroll in absence of EVS Manager

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 3-5 years EVS experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to communicate in English, bi-lingual preferred
  • Must have knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a timely manner
  • Must possess excellent computer skills with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office software

 

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 ½ mile, climbing stairs and sitting at a desk/workstation for the duration of the shift.  Must be able to work in a smoke-filled environment. 

Typically, the individual will be housed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but will escalate when located in the casino environment.  Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.
