Job description

We are seeking an experienced Employment Counsel to join our client’s fully remote legal team. In this role, you will handle a wide range of employment law matters—primarily focusing on responding to administrative agency charges, demand letters, and managing litigation, including matters covered by Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI).

This is an excellent opportunity for an employment litigator who prefers practicing law over business development and values flexibility, autonomy, and top-tier legal work.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to administrative agency charges (e.g., EEOC, DFEH)
  • Draft responses to demand letters and manage pre-litigation strategy
  • Represent clients in employment litigation in federal and state courts
  • Handle cases involving EPLI coverage
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and solutions
  • Maintain high-quality legal work while meeting reasonable billable hour expectations

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
  • At least 5 years of experience in employment law and litigation
  • Experience handling civil litigation and administrative matters
  • Licensed and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior law firm experience
  • Familiarity with EPLI-covered matters
  • Admission to the California bar is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary: $130,000 – $165,000 annually
