Job Summary:

The Director of Forensics will lead the forensics team in delivering high-quality eDiscovery services. This role will focus on managing forensics investigations and collections, overseeing data integrity protocols, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards. This role involves coordinating with team members, clients, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely delivery of forensic services. 


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex forensics investigations related to data breaches, internal audits, and compliance issues, ensuring thorough data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and provide expert witness testimony in legal proceedings.
  • Oversee strategic advisory services to clients on risk management, data governance, and incident response.
  • Oversee activities related to device and data intake, device and data return, data destruction, forensic analysis, and reporting.
  • Implement and manage the development of protocols for collecting and preserving electronic evidence, ensuring compliance with legal standards and best practices.
  • Establish and manage quality assurance processes for forensics methodologies, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of findings.
  • Provide strategic advisory services to clients on risk management, data governance, and incident response, helping them understand the implications of forensic findings and insights.
  • Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion, quality standards, and performance goals are met.
  • Coordinate work activities with other managers, departments, and external stakeholders.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and annual performance reviews as well as formal corrective action for team members.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to occasionally work outside standard business hours, including some evenings and weekends, to meet critical case deadlines and client needs.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or digital forensics, or equivalent digital forensics work experience.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in digital forensics or eDiscovery, with a proven record in a senior leadership role.Extensive knowledge of forensic tools and methodologies to perform forensic imaging and analysis, such as EnCase, FTK, Cellebrite, and Axiom.
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and cloud systems.
  • Strong background in managing large-scale investigations, with experience in both civil and criminal contexts.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access, MS SQL, SQLite, and general database familiarity
  • Scripting or general programming familiarity in Python, PowerShell, Ruby, or similar.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • May require occasional travel to client sites or data centers located out of state

Salary Description
$115,000 - $185,000 per year
