M-F 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST


Position Summary:

Leveraging online science instruction expertise, this position assists college and university professors, chairs, and deans with the design of lab courses for online science classes. As a subject matter expert (SME), developing new labs is a significant part of this role. This position brings credibility to the product marketing and positioning for college level science distance learning courses and products.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Works closely with customers and collaborates with the Distance Learning team and sales staff to develop and recommend lab courses that support customers' learning outcomes.

2. Provides guidance and support to instructors as needed to ensure successful hands-on lab experiences for online students.

3. Designs new science lab investigations to meet the needs of large opportunities. 

4. Provides subject matter expertise to grow sales with new and existing customers. 

5. Ensures labs are safe, instructions and procedures are clear, and results are reproducible in the home environment.

6. Develops a deep understanding of the college distance learning market.

7. Maintains relationships with educators, universities, and associations to enhance company credibility and identify new opportunities for the sales team.

8. Provides technical support for internal and external customers. Provides necessary tools, content, and training across departmental teams to ensure that customer touch points are consistent and impactful. 

 

Secondary Responsibilities:

1. Prepares for and attends appropriate industry events.  

2. Performs other administrative duties as required.  


Qualifications:

Education

Master's degree in science or related field required.

 

Experience

3 years college level science teaching experience, preferably distance education/online teaching experience required. Minimum 3 years of college level product development/product management or instructional design experience is preferred. Or a combination of related experience and education.  


Specialized Training/Skills/Certificates/Licenses

Project Management training/experience a plus. Ability to effectively plan, implement, and monitor self-directed and group projects. Must possess good written and oral communication skills.  Strong content knowledge of subject area is necessary.
