About the role

We are seeking an Editor to review, edit, and audit summaries, headnotes, and other annotations created by Generative AI for caselaw documents. As an Editor you will draft original content as needed, ensuring that the quality of all content produced meets defined standards for quality and timeliness. This role involves working with caselaw content across multiple regions (e.g., U.S., U.K., Canada ).

Responsibilities

  • Review and edit AI-generated legal summaries and annotations for accuracy and clarity.
  • Compare content against case text to ensure key legal principles and facts are correctly represented.
  • Draft original legal summaries and annotations when required.
  • Apply legal research and analytical skills to refine content.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to quality, formatting, and timeliness standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-regional editorial teams and adapt to evolving workflows and guidelines.

Requirements

  • A degree in law (LLB, JD, or equivalent).
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify key legal issues.
  • Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven, remote environment.
  • Proficiency with standard software tools (e.g., Microsoft Office) and willingness to learn new platforms.
  • Reliable internet access and a suitable home working setup.
  • Openness to working with AI-driven tools and adapting to new technologies.
  • Based in Johannesburg OR Durban.
