About the role

SciAps, Inc. is a fast-growing, innovative company specializing in the development and manufacturing of portable analytical instruments. Our products are used in a variety of industries, including mining, environmental, scrap metal recycling, and positive material identification (PMI). We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Territory Sales Representative to drive sales growth in the Upper Midwest states.

The Territory Sales Rep is responsible for managing and growing sales within the assigned territory. This involves identifying and qualifying potential customers, conducting product demonstrations, developing and delivering proposals, negotiating contracts, and building strong relationships with key decision-makers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of exceeding sales targets.

What you will bring to the role:

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive territory sales plan to achieve revenue goals.  
  • Identify and qualify potential customers through various lead generation activities, including cold calling, networking, and attending industry events.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations, highlighting the features and benefits of SciAps instruments.  
  • Prepare and deliver proposals, negotiate pricing and contract terms, and close deals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within customer organizations.
  • Provide ongoing support to existing customers, ensuring satisfaction and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions using CRM software.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitive products, and market conditions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, technical support, and customer service, to ensure seamless customer experience.  
  • Travel within the assigned territory as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical field preferred; business or related field experience considered.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in field sales, preferably in a technical or industrial sales environment.
  • Knowledge of x-ray fluorescence and/or optical emission spectroscopy strongly considered
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and building strong customer relationships.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand complex technical concepts.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  
  • Proficiency in using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).  
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Experience with portable analytical instrumentation or a background in PMI/NDT or metals recycling is a plus.
