Job Description

Do you want to shape the future of data and AI in Danfoss Climate Solutions

We are looking for a skilled and curious Data Scientist to join our Digital Tools & AI team and help solve real business challenges through advanced machine learning

As part of an international company, you will join a high-performing team with a proven track record. We have developed and maintain Danfoss' largest AI platform, run production-ready sales forecasts, and deliver two major mobile apps – Ref Tools and Installer App – with over 1.4 million unique users annually. We also provide digital tools for product selection, configuration, and dimensioning

We are now expanding our portfolio of AI and ML projects, including internal LLMs, computer vision, data quality improvement, and demand forecasting. These initiatives target key business challenges, and this role will be essential to ensuring their success.

Job Responsibilities

As our new Data Scientist, you will play a key role in developing advanced machine learning solutions that address real business challenges and generate actionable insights. In addition, you will contribute to data engineering efforts, ensuring that relevant, high-quality data is available and accessible across multiple use cases.

You will be involved in end-to-end projects, collaborating closely with digital leads, developers, architects, and product owners. Your curiosity and broad understanding of data’s potential will help uncover value across domains such as chatbots, analytics, product selection, and forecasting.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models, proof-of-concepts, and scalable solutions

  • Building and optimizing LLMs, vector stores, and graph databases

  • Applying statistical techniques, machine learning, and advanced analytics to create forecasts, classifications, and recommendation systems

  • Driving the development of next-generation analytics capabilities, supported by solid data infrastructure and tools

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure technical solutions align with business goals

  • Evaluating and enhancing existing models, data pipelines, and analytical frameworks

  • Ensuring seamless integration between systems and data platforms

  • Working with architects and developers to connect and leverage both internal and external data sources

  • Translating complex business needs into practical and impactful ML/AI use cases

  • Communicating technical insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Exploring and assessing emerging tools, technologies, and methods for both immediate and long-term relevance

Background & Skills

To be considered for this position, you should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. You have a solid understanding of AI/ML and statistics, along with hands-on experience in developing, testing, and deploying data-driven solutions

We expect you to bring:

  • At least one year of hands-on experience with data science tools and frameworks

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, including use of notebooks and development frameworks

  • Experience with advanced methods and solutions, such as forecasting models and large language models (LLMs)

  • Knowledge of data storage technologies and database structures

  • Understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns

  • Familiarity with tools and platforms from major providers such as Azure, Google Cloud, Databricks, and MATLAB

You are open-minded, curious, and eager to learn and grow. You navigate complexity with ease and can balance diverse, and sometimes conflicting, priorities in a global and cross-cultural environment. You are proactive, self-driven, and confident in engaging with stakeholders across levels. Your strong communication skills help you deliver impact — whether through your own work or by enabling others.
