ReDiscover is seeking a Registered Nurse or LPN to add to our Opioid Treatment Program!

WHAT WE DO

ReDiscover has two Opioid Treatment Programs (OTP) that offer medication assisted treatment for individuals who have an opioid use disorder. We offer methadone and buprenorphine products in conjunction with counseling, groups, case management, mental health support and medication as well as nursing services to help support our clients in their journey of recovery. Our goal is to prevent overdose, reduce withdrawal symptoms, normalize brain chemistry, relieve physiological cravings, and assist clients in achieving the life goals they have set.

At ReDiscover, while every day is different, a typical day may include the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Complete initial assessment/history on all clients entering treatment. 
  • Strategically use assessment information to make an appropriate clinical evaluation of client's current conditions in a timely manner.  This includes (but not limited to) making appropriate referrals, consulting with physician, and/or educating the client as appropriate.  
  • Educate client and families on symptoms, medications and side effects.
  • Provide a welcoming approach towards all clients, visitors and guests from a trauma informed approach.
  • Collect and maintain information about clients and document interactions within ReDiscover’s designated electronic medical record.
  • Communicate and collaborate with an internal multi-disciplinary team to address various aspects of wellness and ensure positive communication regarding the coordination of client care.

We are focused on your development and will spend time helping you continue to grow as a Registered Nurse and LPN.  However, here are some things that you will need prior to starting with ReDiscover:

  • Available to work (40-hours), a pay period, Monday to Friday, and (4-hours) Saturday twice a month. 
    • Clinic Hours:
    •  Monday to Friday - 7:00am to 4:00pm and Saturday twice a month – 8:00am to 12:00 noon
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Active Missouri license as a Registered Nurse (or the ability to practice as an RN or LPN in the state of Missouri).
  • At least two (2) years clinical experience in a direct service provision in a mental health setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of the community resources as well as health and social service systems in the Kansas City metro area and skill in establishing working relationships with community partners preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as GSuite.
