Job description

At Veracity, we aim to be a different kind of insurance partner—one that is free from outside investors, venture capital, or the pressures of a corporate parent.

Ours is a culture of empowerment – one that believes in effort, results, and accountability. We believe that transparency fosters trust, trust fosters growth, and that growth drives innovation. Our commitment to rigorous evaluation and relentless execution lead to rapid evolution.

We answer only to the small business owners we serve, and this independence allows us to stay focused on what matters most: helping their businesses thrive by providing expert guidance and best-in-class insurance policies.

We’re growing fast and want you to be a part of it!

We’re looking for a talented, detail-oriented Surplus Lines Manager to join our team. Under the direction of the Business Operations Controller this role will be responsible for overseeing the timely completion of all company filings, reports, documentation, reconciliations, and communications related to surplus lines and Risk Purchasing Group (RPG) in all states, and managing the team including their task deadlines, training, and development. This is a remote role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the timely and accurate completion of surplus lines submissions into the surplus filing vendor system (InsCipher), and vendor relationships, staying updated on account needs and state health
  • Develop, train, and supervise the Insurance Filing Team, handling daily questions, escalated tasks, ensuring task coverage, and providing backup when needed
  • Conduct, oversee, and assist with any internal or external surplus lines audits verifying transactions, documents, and filings
  • Assess the quality of work performed by the team, including documents, integrations, tools, and procedures used, communicating with employees, the dev team, stakeholders, and other departments as needed
  • Communicate with employees, stakeholders, and other departments to ensure surplus lines compliance changes are understood and implemented
  • Manage multiple priorities in a high-volume position, deliver timely and accurate work, and respond with a sense of urgency as required
  • Independently investigate, research, and resolve issues that may arise during the filing, reconciliation, or payment processes
  • Be flexible with internal workflow and process changes and adapt training, materials, and procedures as needed, training the team on those changes and handling communication to all departments impacted
  • Provide periodic reporting to stakeholders, analyze filing data and fees, and communicate key metrics and issues
  • Required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
Requirements and Qualifications
  • High School diploma required
  • 5+ years’ experience filing surplus lines transactions to multiple state authorities required, including NY, CA, FL, and TX
  • 1+ years’ supervisory work experience preferred
  • Skilled in Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with Monday.com, AMS360, and InsCipher preferred
  • Work experience or post-secondary education in accounting preferred
Perks
  • Health, dental, and vision plans
  • Amazing work-life balance with 4 weeks of Paid Time Off
  • 9 Paid Company Holidays with 2 floating holidays
  • 401K Programs with employer match
