Job description

Company Description

Lingraphica is a mission-driven organization that provides speech-generating devices to help improve communication, speech, and quality of life for people with communication impairments.  We look for candidates who enjoy working in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment, and who share our commitment to helping individuals on their communication journey.

Job Description

Purpose: As a Product Manager at Lingraphica, you will play a pivotal role on an empowered product team, tasked with solving meaningful customer problems in innovative ways that support our product strategy, business goals, and mission to help people with communication challenges lead fulfilling lives.

We are seeking a Product Manager to lead the development and optimization of our AAC speech-generating devices. This includes working across software teams to create intuitive, accessible, and engaging tools that enable communication, foster independence, and support personal growth for individuals with aphasia and related diagnoses.

You’ll collaborate closely with user groups, engineering, clinical teams, and customer support to ensure that every product experience meets real user needs and delivers measurable outcomes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the vision, roadmap, and execution for your assigned portfolio of AAC speech-generating devices, including software experiences and supporting features.
  • Serve as the product owner and a core member of the product trio (alongside a tech lead and product designer) to deliver intuitive, high-impact device solutions.
  • Collaborate with users, engineering, design, clinical, support, sales, and marketing teams to define and deliver product solutions that meet both user and business needs.
  • Engage in continuous discovery to deeply understand the challenges faced by people with aphasia, caregivers, and clinicians—validating user needs and testing solution concepts regularly.
  • Map key user journeys across device use cases (e.g., onboarding, learning, customization, therapy, conversation), identify friction points, and deliver improvements that enhance outcomes and engagement.
  • Integrate qualitative user insights and quantitative usage data to inform product decisions and prioritize features.
  • Support development of assistive features like context-aware phrase generation, therapy tools, and personalized learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with internal systems and stakeholders (i.e., sales/marketing, manufacturing, operations)? to align device experiences with operational realities, compliance needs, and service models.
  • Analyze product performance and define KPIs that measure clinical impact, user engagement, and usability improvements.
  • Champion user empathy and accessibility best practices throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Bridge communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and shared understanding.
  • Contribute to other product initiatives as needed in support of Lingraphica’s broader goals.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Speech-Language Pathology, Computer Science, Product Design), or equivalent experience.
  • 3- 5 years experience in product management for assistive technology, healthcare, or ed-tech.
  • Familiarity with Android platforms, accessibility standards, and building for users with cognitive, motor, or communication challenges.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams that include engineering, design, and clinical or healthcare stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strategic and empathetic thinker, able to translate user challenges into effective, inclusive product solutions.
  • Deep interest in human-centered design, especially for people with communication and cognitive differences.
  • Collaborative leadership style with strong skills in influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, balancing impact, feasibility, compliance, and technical complexity.
  • Proficiency in Agile product development, continuous discovery, and outcome-based planning.
  • Comfortable discussing technical architecture tradeoffs, and product testing considerations.
