Description

Job Purpose:


The Nurse Consultant at Margaritaville at Sea plays a vital role in safeguarding the health and well-being of our crew and passengers. This position provides expert healthcare advice, supports the implementation of medical protocols, and ensures compliance with legal obligations, including our "Maintain and Cure" requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and evaluate Pre-Employment Medical Exams (PEMEs) for crew members

  • Support and monitor active medical situations occurring on vessels, providing guidance and tracking care

  • Determine the point of medical resolution in accordance with legal standards, confirming when the “cure” obligation has been met

  • Negotiate rates and terms with hospitals and medical providers to ensure cost-effective care

  • Advise on healthcare policies, promote a healthy onboard environment, and contribute to the overall medical readiness of the fleet

  • Collaborate with operational teams to prepare for medical contingencies as we expand to a third vessel

Qualifications

Required Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or equivalent credential required

  • Prior experience in maritime, occupational, or remote care settings preferred

  • Strong understanding of U.S. maritime "Maintain and Cure" obligations

  • Excellent communication, judgment, and negotiation skills

Schedule and Availability:
This role may require flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Workload will increase as the fleet expands.
