The Role: Registered Dietician Virtual - PRN
What You'll Do: The Virtual Registered Dietician creates nutrition plans to improve the health and physical conditions of patients, typically using online platforms like video calls, email, and chat. Their main duties include analyzing patients’ health status, goals, and dietary restrictions, tracking patients’ dietary intake and progress and educating them on how to maintain a balanced diet. This is a PRN ("as needed") opportunity, typically 1 day a week (roughly 4-6 hours a week) and the hours will always be between 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Essential Job Functions
Establish a relationship and knowledge of the patient
Analyzing program for patients in consultation with patients’ Physician(s)
Establishing goals and dietary restrictions
Track patients’ dietary intake and progress to determine future goals and plans
Educating patients on how to maintain a balanced diet through online resources and interactive sessions.
Developing a core meal plan specific to the patients’ needs
Good decision making and judgment capabilities
Experience with Electronic Medical Record systems
Utilize technology proficiently such as online platforms, video conferencing software, and other digital tools to deliver services and maintain patient communication.
Essential Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nutrition, wellness or related degree program
Experience:3 years as a Registered Dietician (RD) or Registered Dietician Nutritionist (RDN) in a hospital or clinical setting
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Current Registered Dietician (RD) or Registered Dietician Nutritionist (RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
Licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)
Will also be required to become licensed in New Mexico by the New Mexico Nutrition and Dietetics Practice Board.
