Purpose

PerkinElmer is seeking a highly detail-oriented and technically skilled Global Process Expert – International Trade Compliance to secure the daily execution of critical trade compliance activities. This is a critical, desk-based role supporting global import and export operations by ensuring accurate compliance data and smooth cross-border movement of goods.

You will operate at the transactional core of our global compliance program, acting as a well-trained gatekeeper for compliance accuracy, classification, and data integrity. Your responsibilities will span across global shipments, supporting all regions from a central or regionally distributed location.

Responsibilities

Transactional Compliance Execution

  • Monitor and resolve compliance blocks in our Global Trade Management System (SAP GTs) for sales and purchase orders to ensure shipments can be processed without customs delays.
  • Secure accuracy and completeness of compliance master data (HTS, ECCN, COO, SPL) used in import and export declarations.
  • Perform high-risk transactional steps such as license determination, sanctioned party screening and investigation, and export control classification in accordance with our Manuals and Playbooks.

 Process Execution & Quality Control

  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all transactions, ensuring activities are traceable and audit-ready.
  • Conduct quality checks and resolve data inconsistencies or SAP/GTS master data issues in close collaboration with Master Data or Logistics teams.
  • Escalate high-risk transactions or unresolved blocks per established escalation protocols.

Knowledge & Specialization

  • Act as a trade compliance gateway in the New Product Introduction (NPI) or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process by validating initial compliance attributes in SAP GTS.
  • Stay up to date with internal rule changes, compliance updates, and system configurations through regular training.
  • Support system testing and updates in collaboration with IT, when needed.

Country-Specific role (Brazil)

  • Act as an in-country ITC specialist, ensuring continuity of trade compliance support for cross-border shipments.
  • Support day-to-day transactional activities such as license validation, blocked order clearance, and compliance documentation review when local teams are unavailable.
  • Maintain close coordination with the Americas ITC lead to ensure alignment on local procedures, risk tolerance, and escalation protocols.

  • 5-8 years of experience in Trade Compliance

Preferred Characteristics

  • Familiarity with WCO HTS classification, ECCN, COO rules, and SPL screening
  • Strong attention to detail, operational discipline, and ability to follow standardized instructions precisely and support with the continuous improvement of our internal processes and standards
  • Fluent in English; Spanish/Portuguese are a plus
  • Comfortable working in a fully digital, desk-based environment across time zones
