Seasonal Associate Preschool Teacher
The PJCC Preschool is looking for seasonal teachers to join our community of innovative, early childhood educators.
We are proud to provide the highest quality early childhood education to the children in our care. We follow a play-based co-constructivist philosophy with an emphasis on emergent curriculum. Children are encouraged to explore and make meaning of the materials and world around them through hands on experiences.
A typical day at our school consists of welcoming the children and families into our warm and inviting environments, outside play that invites children to strengthen their motor skills, and classroom exploration of varying materials that encourage curiosity. The children enjoy lunch and nap/rest during their day as well as programming with our Physical Education, Music and Garden specialists.
Throughout the day teachers observe and actively listen to children with the intention of building relationships and curriculum based on their findings. Creating curriculum from the children’s interest ensures the learning is meaningful, connected and engaging. Using teacher reflection, we deepen our growth as educators, adapt the curriculum as needed to reflect the children in our classroom, and connect the children’s experiences with Jewish values.
Our teachers are committed to being lifelong learners alongside the children. We offer multiple opportunities to develop and grow within our PJCC community and the larger community as well. We have 3 mentor teachers on staff and a Curriculum Coach to support our team.
Two of our core Jewish values, Hachnassat Orchim (Welcoming All) and Kehillah (Community), are heavily weaved in the culture of our school. We believe in building a community through respect, relationships, and play.
The role of the Preschool Seasonal Teacher is to support the teacher in creating a warm, inviting and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. The teacher will collaborate on curriculum design and relationship building.
