  • Perform audits to ensure compliance with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
  • Review health documentation for compliance with coding standards and guidelines.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and training to physicians regarding clinical documentation and coding.
  • Analyze auditing results to identify risk issues and educational opportunities.

What you’ll be responsible for:

The Coding Auditor will encompass critical thinking skills, confidentiality, data analysis and in-depth evaluation.  Ensure compliance with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Perform audits and assist in establishing core processes and functions.
 

 What you’ll work on:

  • Review confidential and substantial health documentation to make evidence-based decisions concerning compliance of primary and specialty care Evaluation and Management Coding
  • Review accuracy and compliance of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS II, provider documentation, and other approved resources to ensure proper code assignment
  • Based on assessments, ensure standard operating procedures are updated with improvements
  • Analyze auditing results to capture and illustrate risk issues, revenue leakage, and educational opportunities
  • Provide ongoing physician feedback, training, and technical support regarding clinical documentation guidelines, service selection, accurate charge capture and timely submission  
  • Serve as a resource for technical guidance of professional coding issues
  • Stay current with all coding changes and updates through regular research and verification
  • Keeps manager promptly and fully informed of all issues and concerns
  • Acts as a point of contact and provide expertise to providers and other staff
  • Perform reconciliations (procedure schedules, logs and clinical system reports) to ensure charges are captured 
  • Other duties as assigned

 What you’ll bring to Access TeleCare: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience conducting coding audits or coding of evaluation and management services
  • CPC, RHIA, RHIT, CCS-P, CCS and/or CCA certification required
  • Knowledge of auditing and/or coding with CPT/HCPCS/ICD10 
  • Experience with HIPAA regulations
  • Solid understanding of Auditing, Billing, Coding and EMR
  • Knowledge 1995-97 Coding guidelines 
  • Knowledge of 2021-23 E/M Coding guidelines 
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Strong communications skills (written and oral) as well as demonstrate the ability to work effectively across departments
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft office programs, communication, and collaboration tools in various operating systems
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and self-manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to thrive in a High growth, fast-paced organization, and 100% Remote based environment
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Occasional travel for meetings and collaboration
