Foster Parent Placement Coordinator

Foster Parent Placement Coordinator  - Columbus, OH

 

The Foster Parent Placement Coordinator is responsible for the initial assessment of referrals and, helping in recommending appropriate services based on referrals coming into the agency.  Responsible for communicating to referring agencies, interagency correspondence regarding required agency case file information. 

 

Compensation: $23.00 per hour 

Schedule: Monday–Friday, either 9:00 AM–5:00 PM or 1:00 PM–9:00 PM

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the placement procedures, interagency correspondence and required agency case file information.
  • Be responsible for the initial assessment of referrals and, when appropriate, conduct an on-site visit/assessment with the prospective youth and family.
  • Be responsible for recommending the appropriate service(s) to be delivered in accordance with the least restrictive environment, based on assessment results.
  • Be responsible for communicating to referring agencies and foster parents for the determination and negotiation of the level of care of the clients, based on assessment results.
  • Entering received referral information into agency systems, including but not limited to SharePoint and Excel. 
  • Assist with increasing the referral base by approved methods and strategies to keep child-placing agencies aware of NYAP’s continuum of care and services.
  • Distribute statistical reports to supervisors detailing service reception activities as requested.
  • Advocate on behalf of the youth through individual and system advocacy to promote the provision of service delivery to the youth and their families via the least restrictive service delivery option available.
  • Follow agency procedures for weekend and holiday emergency coverage.
  • Interact effectively with agency staff, foster parents, referring agencies, and the general public.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum two years’ experience in youth services, preferring with direct experience in Human Services.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a social service or related field. 

  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.

  • Possess a sincere commitment and ability to advocate for troubled youth.

 

Driving and Vehicle Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reliable personal transportation
  • Good driving record
  • Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability
