We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, leadership-focused, and detailed-oriented Associate Vice President to join our Business Development Transactions organization (the “Transactions team”) within the Legal department. In this role, you will lead and manage a broad range of corporate transactions and lead cross-functional project teams. You will collaborate with senior business stakeholders across the organization to ensure that the Transactions team is providing the highest level of service and counsel to bring medicines to patients in need. This role reports to the Vice-President and Head of Transactions.

We’re interested in a versatile, team-oriented candidate who has extensive experience leading transaction teams in either a law firm or in-house at another pharmaceutical or biotechnology company, and who is interested in working in a dynamic environment with broad responsibility and influence.
This multidisciplinary position requires that you to be and stay abreast of industry trends and effectively draft, review and negotiate a variety of complex agreements related to the acquisition and licensing of pharmaceutical intellectual property and other assets, as well as collaboration agreements between two or more organizations. This attorney will drive large negotiation teams across a variety of functions, including business development, finance, accounting, tax, ethics and compliance, human resources and Lilly’s research & development labs, in all phases of the transactional lifecycle. The attorney will provide strategic and legal advice for complex business transactions, including designing transaction structures, leading contract negotiation teams, consolidating input from across the Lilly enterprise, and partnering with Lilly’s senior management to enable efficient execution.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$222,000 - $325,600Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
